“My friend Joyce and I had a fabulous 15 day Double Denali Tour with Discover Alaska.  Our cruise/tour was June 1 – June 15.  We are now home in Sacramento. I believe we brought them 15 days of good weather. So I have been told by the crew, merchants and tour guides.  The entire cruise and land tours were well organized. The ship’s food, crew, entertainment and accommodations were above our expect ions.  The Cruise Director and our Discover Alaska Tour Managers were all excellent.  Most informative and entertaining.  They were Alyssa, Shannon, and Kelly.  Lisa was also excellent on our 8 hour Denali bus tour in the wilderness.  We saw as shown in your excellent DVD and Brochure a Grizzly Bears, Moose’s, foxes, Caribou, Mt Sheep and Mt. goats plus many bald eagles and 2 golden eagles.  We saw many of the state bird plus ravens, crows, etc.

The 4 hotels we stayed in were excellent.  All very helpful and polite with excellent service.  Our Ship’s cabin and balcony were clean and wonderful.  Joyce wanted the balcony, not me.  I have to publicly admit I was wrong and the balcony was an excellent feature.  We saw2 Whales and many Sea Otters.  We saw beautiful sunsets that never sat even at 3 AM. WOW! The Noordam was a wonderful ship. Our room stewards Rosa and Aziz were so friendly and polite while cleaning our cabin.  We liked the towel animals they left on our bed.  Thank you for our excellent bus drivers.  Our luggage never got lost on ship or land.  It was always in our room when we arrived. Wow again.

We really enjoyed the land excursions to the Glaciers., White Pass Railroad.  The gold nugget cemetery ( Loved the giant Gold Nugget). The riverboat trip in Fairbanks was fun visiting Susan Butchers home where she raised Huskies.  The interesting Indian village, and dredger 8 with gold panning.  Joyce panned the moist gold dust at $45.  It cost the same to put in a nice pendant and necklace as well!

Kelly our land team manager from Seward to Fairbanks did a great job.  She had the patience of job with the friendliness and knowledge of a true friend.  Thank you for answering my many mundane questions.

In conclusion Joyce really enjoyed bargaining with the numerous jewelry stores.  She got a watch bracelet and necklace.  I on the other hand got 200 pictures, 40 postcards and a fun visit to Dolly’s the Brothel!

It was a wonderful lifetime trip to the land of the midnight sun.  I’m confident my friends will want to also go on the Discover Alaska journey. Especially when they view your DVD and see my pictures, even if I have to tie them to a chair.”
